I answered this mobile number showing it to be from Australia, where I am and it was an Indian woman claiming to be calling from the UK, on behalf of Blockchain Support, to tell me that they have noticed a dozen or more people claiming to be me and trying to access my bitcoin account. She proceeded to tell me that my account has been locked to prevent fraudulent activity and wanted to know if I wish to unlock my account, withdraw and or keep investing. She told me I have 4.5 bitcoins worth $309,000. In order to proceed, she said I had to go through a two step verification process. Firstly, she wanted me to verify/prove my identity and secondly, I needed to deposit $300 into my account to activate it again. At this point I knew it was a scam. I told her I couldn’t continue with the conversation and to phone me back at a more convenient time the next day. It’s the next day at the time she said she’d call and I am now receiving multiple calls from her that are all different mobile numbers from Australia.
