This number is an aggressive charity who try to trap you into donating and if you don't they Harass you with calls until you do and this will happen the following year. if you do not want to donate that is your choice and when you tell them you do not want you phone number to be contacted again to remove your phone number from their data base, they respond and tell you they'll call again later. not right!!!!

The number is a dialer used for legitimate charity fundraising.
This particular number is used by Fred Hollows, Guide Dogs for the Blind, the RSPCA, and Amnesty International among others.
I used to work for one of these organisations. If you are being hung up on that is most likely because there is a note in the system that you are either someone who abuses charities over the phone, or you continually block a call meant for your spouse, not you, pretending that person doesn't exist or is always "in the shower" etc.
THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO if you do not want to receive the calls, is to always take the call then say politely "I am not interested, can you please take me off the list". The agent will then be happy to hit F5+NEVERCALL and you will be removed from the system. This is totally at the fundraisers discretion, so be polite and don't be abusive.
Charities are exempt from the DNCR, are allowed to call private numbers, unlisted numbers, and any other kind of number. Your Government allows this and Telstra and big data companies provide your number, for a fee of course. -

Been calling at least once daily for over 4 weeks. When put onto voice mail, the person doesn't seem to understand the situation and speaks as if I've picked up the phone. Very annoying. How to get back at these people other than not answering?

Has constantly called me for the past 2 months at random times of the day, very annoying. I have blocked the number but they still continue to call sometimes on similar numbers. Simply do not pick up there calls!

I tried to complain to the telecommunications ombudsman about calls form this number as there are a number of websites like this with multiple complaints. However, you can't even make an online complaint unless you have already called your provided and got a reference number and they have referred you to the Ombudsman. Everyone says there is nothing the providers can do anyway. Some say it is RSPCA, some Amnesty or the like. Once you make even 1 donation to these places they call you forever. Only option is to block it on your own phone but they call form multiple numbers! I get them from the same numbers sometimes but with the only difference in the last 1 or 2 numbers. The industry needs to do something about this! Charities are exempt form the Do Not Call register too.

Keeps calling and hanging up when I answer. When I rang back to find out I got an answering machine saying that it was a company calling on behalf of a charity I might have signed up to OR they also ring to see if I will donate to a charity. This phone number is only given out to people in our organisation and I believe some bint gave a fake number to someone because I have been receiving phone calls incessantly over the past two days from this number and another!! Very annoying. Can't block it on the old handset I have.

Treated me as if I was some kind of employee, demanding an explanation as to how they got my number, kept telling him I didn't have a clue and I wasn't interested but he kept cutting me off insisting I take part in their bullshit survey. I then really lost it and screamed at the deads**t with an attitude. Hung up then tried to ring them back but got engaged tone. God I wish I had his home landline number, I would make his life hell. Mobile would suffice. They should back off straight away if U tell them you're not interested.
