Insurance scam. Claim to have gotten my details (but didnt know my name) from the 'department ' and RACQ, SUNCORP and other insurance agencies that are part of the department about someone in the house having an accident in the last 2 years.

There was a delay at the beginning of the call, so it may have been a rerouted International call. The woman ('Alena Smith') was polite, but had an Indian sounding accent which was difficult to understand. She said she was from the Incident Investigation Verifications Unit at Sydney Claims Lawyers, and was verifying that someone in our household had been in a car accident at Kiama Downs in the past two years. She claimed our phone number had been provided at the time of the accident. She said I could call them back on +612 8006 7686. I gave her no information and will report it to the Do Not Call Register.

Appears to be an International call being rerouted through (02)80067686. Poor English from the woman on the other end of the phone - claimed someone from our house address had been in a car accident in the past two years. I told her we were on the Do Not Call Register and also don't accept calls from overseas - she proceeded to advise she was based in Sydney! i simply hung up..

The usual story. Indian sounding woman from Newcastle with an arrogant tone to her voice when my wife couldn't remember the accident she was in within the last two years. We were sceptical. Glad this page exists to verify suspicions.

They called me 3 times today on 02 8006 7686, saying in a very thick accent that his name was Harry, When I called back a lady picked up but didn't say her name, again also with a thick accent. he was saying that I was in an accident and entitled to compensation. We have not been in one nor should I be chased for something I do not need or want!!!! Very angry that on the 3rd call I had to yell at him so he would listen as I do not want him call back again!!! Stop With The Scams!!!!
